Bill Gates famously once said, “if I was down to my last dollar, I would spend it on public relations.” While we can’t really imagine Bill Gates ever running out of money, he did get one thing right: PR is important. Public relations is key to growing and maintaining an audience and getting the word out about your business. However, what Bill didn’t mention was that PR can be pricey.
Public relations is a dynamic, ever-changing industry. From the eyes of a newcomer, jumping into this world can seem very daunting. But it doesn’t have to be. We believe that knowledge is power, and what better way to learn than through an arsenal of great books, curated specifically for young PR girls trying to find their way. Read on for our list of PR girl must-reads!

While many lay around in their pajamas all weekend, we took a different "busy bee" approach. Our latest NY workshop was held at Brooklyn Brigade, the cutest & most insta-worthy space in town. Hearing advice from leading ladies Cyndi Ramirez & Alyssa Coscarelli, to enjoying delicious food and forming new friendships, this weekend marked yet another successful Fashion PR Confidential workshop!
Nothing brightens up a room like a fresh bouquet of flowers. Which is why at each table setup, we had beautiful arrangements from Bloom That. After all, this weekend marked the first day of spring, meaning flowers were a must!
The one and only Alyssa Coscarellli, fashion market writer from Refinery29, made her second Fashion PR Con appearance and gave us insights into pitching editors and building relationships.
Loading up on yummy food, coffee, and treats were also a must. This kept our attendees fueled and energized throughout their fun group activities!
We can't forget about our always loved and awaited goodie bags. Mullein & Sparrow provided us with bath salts for a nice relaxing bath. Katie Dean elevated our accessory game with ultra cool rings. Henne Organics treated our lips to some amazing luxury lip balm. The Frosting Company made sure our lips stayed soft & moisturized with yummy smelling vanilla mint lip scrub.
Amika knows us PR Girls are always on the run, and need to save as much time as possible. Which is why they provided us with their awesome perk up dry shampoo. SHHHOWERCAP followed this "let's see how long I can go without washing my hair" trend by sharing a special code with us on our next SHHHOWERCAP purchase!
Our attendees and special guests definitely bloomed up our "first day of spring" weekend. We can't wait for yet another edition of Fashion PR Confidential.
