This weekend marks one month since Fashion PR Con: LA. Man, does time fly! The weekend was so much fun. We had amazing speakers, a gorgeous venue, made new friendships and connects, and the food was a fashion foodies dream!
We held Fashion PR Con at the rustic-yet-elegant venue of Gazoozle HQ in Burbank, California. I mean, just look at this place. Isn't it a dream? We had one area for lectures and another side of the room equipped with couches, bean bags and cute mix-and-matched chairs for guest speaker chats and breakout sessions.
The weekend, as usual, was jam-packed with valuable information where Danika Daly and Crosby Noricks taught PR plans, media list building, how to write a pitch and more. It's no wonder we were starving by lunch. Le Pain Quotidien Catering came to the rescue. The food was so Instagram friendly that everyone was scared to mess up the gorgeous display of food art. Alas, we ate it anyway - hungry Fashion PR girls we were. It was so delicious, every person in the room went back for seconds and thirds of sandwiches, tartines, crispy salads and yummy fruit tarts.
Breanna Warner of Alliance Apparel US - the company behind Lovers + Friends LA - was so inspiring as she led us along her journey through PR from agency to in-house. She also talked to us about the importance of organic relationships with influencers. She left us with some highly coveted tops from Lovers + Friends LA. It was hard to choose between flamingo prints, 'Babe Magnet' tops and 'Darling' crop tops.
Some top LA fashion publicists joined us for our speed networking round including Kelly Howard of Post + Beam, Samantha Slaven of Samantha Slaven PR, Jen Cullen Williams of Lux Brand Group, and Alle Fister of Bollare. They chatted with the groups and answered their burning PR and career questions.
Then there were our amazing goodie bags, curated with some of our favorite items right now! Lovers + Friends provided the awesome T-shirts we mentioned before. They go with anything! Katie Dean Jewelry adorned our little fingers with her dainty rings. I haven't taken mine off since Fashion PR Con! Chopper's Kisses hair ties in Fashion PR Con colors were a mega hit. The Rifle Paper CO x Garance Dore journals are even more beautiful in person. As a notebook collector, I have to say these are my favorites right now! Concrete Geometric's modern mini planters decorated the tables for the weekend and every girl got to take one home to plant some beautiful succulents. These great goodies were all wrapped in the staple Fashion PR Con tote.
