The Do’s and Don’ts of Fashion PR Confidential

By now, we’re sure you have had a million questions go through your head about Fashion PR Con, and that’s okay. We are here to help with a list of do’s and don’ts for the course.

Do bring your resume.

-Attendees have scored awesome internships by being prepared and having their resumes at the right place, at the right time.

Don’t be late.

-If you are a visitor from outside of New York make sure you get directions beforehand. Also, make sure to leave your hotel in plenty of time in case you get lost or there are delays. You’re not going to want to miss a second of Fashion PR Con!

Do network.

-Be sociable and get to know your classmates and your teachers. After all, you already have one thing in common to talk about! You never know what opportunities may come forth from one hello and what friendships are waiting to be made.

Do take notes.

-Whether it be on your laptop, tablet, or good ol’ pen and paper. The whole point of this class is to educate students of fashion PR, so treat it as you would a course in college, a fun course that is.

Don’t dress like you are attending the Met Gala.

-Not only will we be sitting in a class all day, but you have to walk up eight flights of stairs to get to that class (no elevators, sorry!). Still dress professionally and fashionably, but keep comfort in mind.

Don’t forget to document your experience.

-We encourage you to share your experience on your social media sites with #FashionPRCon.

Do have fun!

-Above all else, have a blast! We want this to be an experience that you will always cherish and look back on.
